Circuit boards in the Korg Polysix ================================== All circuit boards have names beginning with KLM-, which stands, I believe, for Korg Logical Module. Nevertheless, there are a few boards in a Polysix which can seem a bit daunting at first. This is an attempt to sort them out. KLM-366 is the actual synthesizer board. It is the big board located to the right in the bottom of the case. It contains the six voices, the Key Assigner (8049) CPU, Key CV DAC and CV exponantiator. It sits next to... KLM-367 which contains the common electronics to all voices, i.e. the LFO (MG) and PWM LFO, programmable CV DAC and demultiplexing, programmer (8048) CPU, tape interface and comparator for front panel pots CV. KLM-368 is the effects boards which contains three bucket-brigade analog delay lines for the Phaser, Chorus and Ensemble effects. KLM-369 is the leftmost panel board, with the Tune, Bend Range, MG and VCO controls and associated CV mux. It also contains the headphone amplifier. KLM-370 is the middle panel board, with the VCF, EG and VCA controls and associated CV mux. KLM-371 is the rightmost panel board, with the programmer and arpeggiator buttons and LEDs and associated drivers. It also contains the arpeggiator clock. KLM-376 is the power supply, differing slightly depending on which country you are in. On older Polysixes, belonging to the 'old production', a small board called KLM-396 provides some support for KLM-366. This board has been designed into the redesigned KLM-366 in the 'new production'.
